- The Gambia is just approximately 6 hours flight away
- Guaranteed Winter Sunshine
- Total culture change
The Gambia is one of the smallest countries in Africa, situated on the unspoilt west coast on approximately the same latitude as Barbados. Mostly flat, the country is dominated by the majestic River Gambia from which it takes its name.
The Gambia is not for everyone, as the pace of life is unhurried, but many people get hooked, returning year after year as it is outside of the Eurozone and is unaffected by the current poor exchange rates offering great value for money.
A sub-tropical climate, fascinating culture, magnificent wide sandy beaches and some of the friendliest people on earth add up to a great holiday destination - whether you are a after a summer getaway or seeking some winter sun.

Location and How to Find Hibiscus House:
Hibiscus House is located in Brufut, a village in The Gambia, approximately 1 mile from the Atlantic Coast. If you are booking a stay with us and are flying into Banjul International Airport then we can provide a pick up service. However, if you are travelling by car then please follow these directions:
From the North:
If you are traveling from Senegambia direction or from Banjul then continue on the Southerly directed roads until you reach a round-a-bout. At the round-a-bout continue towards Brufut, on the coastal road. After approximately 1km you will see a large telecoms mast with a red flashing light on top, at this junction you need to turn left onto a dusty road (you should also see Hibiscus House and Blue Bar signs at this junction). Continue down the dust road for about 400 yards until you reach another sign and a small yellow ‘Magi’ shop. At this junction turn left and Hibiscus House is 40 yards down that road on your right hand side.
From the South:
Continue on the coastal road past Tanji, Ghana Town and the Sheraton. After the Sheraton Hotel, which will be on your left) continue for about 1km until you reach a large telecoms mast. At this junction turn right and follow directions as per ‘From the North’ above.
