Saidou our chef has been with us at Hibiscus House for the past 9 seasons, he is ‘in house’ trained and has been highly complimented on his food by many guests

Traditional African foods along with International Cuisine is always available

Hibiscus House prides itself on using fresh local produce

Special dietary requirements are no problem as we are only small and are able to accommodate special requests

Our menus are all created to use the fresh local produce of The Gambia.
We offer a combination of African and International cuisine and can cater for most special dietary requirements and requests.


Continental African or Cooked Breakfast is served between 8.30am and 10.00am

Fresh seasonal fruits on a platter or in a pancake with honey.
Local fruit juice.
Tapalapa – locally made bread with Peanut Butter and Honey all produced in The Gambia.
Cooked Breakfast (bacon, tomatoes and eggs poached fried or as an omelette).
*Breakfast is included in the price of your room
 **If you are on an excursion you can arrange a take away breakfast the day before


Lunch is from 12 noon until 2.30pm

Our menu offers a variety of meals, salads and snacks.
You will find a ‘Chef’s Lunchtime Special’ on the black board in the bar each day.

Our evening menu is complimented by our Chef’s Specials and African Specials which change each evening.
Evening meals are usually served in Hibiscus House Restaurant.
